North Dean Wood 30-10-13

Oliver, Peachysteve and myself had a short walk around the wood and we found some lovely Jellydiscs and a really attractive Yellow Shield amongst others things besides.


Beech Jellydisc (Neobulgaria pura).


Glistening Inkcap (Coprinellus micaceus).


Purple Jellydisc (Ascocoryne cylichnium) - above and below.




Spores 19- 25 x 4.5 -6


Yellow Shield (Pluteus chrysophaeus) above and all images below.


Free gills.


Cap finely wrinkled at the centre.


Cheilocystidia utriform/bottle shaped.


Cap cuticle consists of spherical cells whereas the P.leoninus are filamentous.


Spores 5.5-6.5 x 4.5-5
