Hardcastle Crags 18-09-13

Myself and Johnny did a lap of the Crags in what turned out to be a very wet and soggy foray. I'm glad we did it though as we manage to find quite a lot of species and Oliver was delighted when he came home from school and saw some of the specimens that I had collected.

False Deathcap (Amanita citrina).

Honey Fungus (Armillaria mellea).

Calocera pallidospathulata.

Terracotta Hedgehog (Hydnum rufescens).

Brick Tuft (Hypholoma lateritium).

Trumpet Chanterelle (Cantharellus tubaeformis).

Beech milkcap (Lactarius blennius).

Rufous Milkcap (Lactarius rufus).

Primrose Brittlegill (Russula sardonia).

The gills had a pink reaction to ammonia.
