Witches' Butter (Exidia glandulosa)

Velvet Shank (Flammulina velutipes).

Very pretty Scarlet Elfcups (Sarcoscypha austriaca), a great find for Oliver, who took a specimen to show his friends and teachers at the Christmas Fayre.

  1. I don't think it's Sulphur Tuft, Alison. That has long curvy stems. This had a stumpy stem. The colouring/ texture, etc (especially the viscid surface of the cap) reminded me of Velvet Shank Flammulina velutipes var. velutipes. Perhaps anothe variety of F.velutipes.

  4. Glad you decided on "glandulosa" I thought that "plana" was unlikely, it look somewhat different as well.
