Dodge Royd Wood 22-01-14

Peachysteve and myself had a walk through the wood with Basil and Lace on a very mild winter's day. We found lots of fungi along the way and shown below are a few of our finds that we have positively identified.

Scarlet Elfcup (Sarcoscypha austriaca).

Scurfy Twiglet (Tubaria furfuracea).

Badhamia utricularis - Steve's photo.

Rusty Woodwart (Hypoxylon rubiginosum) - Steve's photo

Tripe Fungus (Auricularia mesenterica) - Steve's photo.

Lemon Disco (Bisporella citrina).

Common Bonnet (Mycena galericulata) - Steve's photo above and mine below.

Cinnamon Porecrust (Fuscoporia ferrea). Steve's photo above and mine below.

Spores hyaline, smooth 6-7 x 2-2.5 microns.

Velvet Shank (Flammulina velutipes).

White Brain (Exidia thuretiana).

Terracotta Hedgehog (Hydnum rufescens).

Netted Crust (Byssomerulis corium) - above and two below.

When mature as the example above, the underside becomes distinctly meluriod.

We found some animal faeces containing what appears to be some snake skin. Not mycological I know but still interesting.
